Academic Skills Center
The Academic Skills Center (ASC) offers a variety of retention programs and campus support services. Programs include Supplemental Workshops in Math and Science and Study Session groups for challenging entry-level courses. Campus support includes online study skills resources and a list of campus tutoring services.

Multicultural Engineering Program (MEP) Tutoring Lab
The Tutoring Lab offers assistance in engineering, math and science courses. The tutors are trained to assist you learn the material based on your learning style so you can excel on your exams and homework on your own. The Lab is open during the fall, winter, and spring quarters from the second week of the quarter through dead week. Take a look at the schedule to see if the course you would need tutoring in is available!
Mustang Success Center
The Mustang Success Center coordinates and provides timely, effective advising services to first and second year students, first year transfer students, and student-athletes. Through individual appointments, group advising sessions, and workshops, the advisors help students:
- Understand university policies and procedures
- Offer a full range of proactive academic services
- Refer students to appropriate campus resources
- Provide leadership in coordinating college and university programs that support student success
Writing & Rhetoric Center
The University Writing & Rhetoric Center, a division of the College of Liberal Arts, offers free writing consultations to all Cal Poly students. The center also oversees the Graduation Writing Requirement (GWR) and the English Placement Test (EPT). The GWR and the EPT are CSU Trustee-mandated programs.

The Disability Resource Center provides information and support services to Cal Poly students with permanent and temporary disabilities.
Louis Stokes for Alliance in Minority Participation (LSAMP)
The LSAMP Program is designed to support undergraduate students who face or have faced social, educational and/or economic barriers to careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The goal of the LSAMP Program is to increase the persistence and graduation rates of students from underrepresented groups who major in STEM disciplines.
